Know Your Vape: A Quick Start Guide to Your OTV Device

Your OTV vape showed up. Now what?

The good news: there is not much to learn. A screen, a button, and a mouthpiece. The better news: a couple of small habits are the difference between a vape that feels smooth for weeks and one that gets ahead of you on night one.

Here is the quick version.

Start light. Stay lifted.

If you remember one thing, make it this:

A couple of light pulls. Then wait.

Vaping hits faster than gummies, but it still takes a few minutes to settle in. Take one or two short pulls, put the device down, and give it ten to fifteen minutes before you decide whether you want more. Most first sessions that go sideways come from chasing the feeling before it has had a chance to show up.

You can always take another pull. You cannot untake one.

What you are actually vaping

OTV vapes are THCa liquid diamonds blended with live resin. Liquid diamonds are the high-purity part of the equation. Live resin is the part that keeps the flavor and aroma of the original flower. Together they are potent and they taste like the strain on the label, which is exactly why a light touch matters early on.

New to THCa? Here is the beginner's guide.

The controls

  • Five clicks turns the device on or off.
  • Double click switches between the power settings.

Start on the lower setting. It runs cooler, the flavor holds up better, and each pull is a little gentler. Move up once you know how the device feels for you, not before.

The screen shows your battery percentage and a counter. The counter is just a counter. It is not a dose gauge and it is not an oil gauge. Do not let it tell you how much to take.

A few habits worth keeping

  • Short pulls, not long drags. Two to three seconds is plenty. Pulling hard and long does not get you more, it just gets you a hot, harsh hit.
  • Let it rest between pulls. Give the device a few seconds to cool. It will thank you with better flavor.
  • Charge it on a flat surface, not the couch. USB-C, somewhere you can see it. Do not leave it charging overnight.
  • USB-C is the plug, not a promise. Not every adapter with that plug is a good match. Use what your device's instructions call for, and if you are not sure, ask us before you plug it in.
  • Keep it out of the car. Heat and cold both shorten the life of the battery and the oil. Room temperature, out of direct sun.
  • Lock it up. Out of sight and reach of kids and pets. Every time.

Something feel off?

If the device is not charging, the screen is showing something you do not recognize, or it got wet or damaged, stop using it and stop charging it. Do not open it up or try to fix the battery yourself.

Then hit us up with:

  • Your order number and the product name.
  • A photo of the screen and the packaging.
  • For a charging problem, the cable and adapter you used.

That gets us to the answer faster than “it's not working.” We will get you sorted.

When it is empty

Disposable does not mean it goes in the kitchen trash. Vape batteries can start fires in regular trash and recycling. Call your local household hazardous waste program, ask if they take vape devices, and follow their directions. Do not take it apart. (Source: EPA disposal guidance)

The short version

Low power setting. Two light pulls. Wait fifteen minutes. Then decide.

That is the whole playbook. Take your time with it.

21+ only. Do not drive or operate machinery after use. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
